Human beings are fascinating to me because everyone has
their own personality and inner world. I work from life because
the passage of time invites a person to reside in the inner world of thoughts
and emotion. Observing their body language and expression offers me a glimpse
into the beauty of their spirits.

Dear Theresa, I do love your paintings, your garden and particularly some of your portraits, red gloves, white skirt, pat weaver, and so on. They are wonderful. It is also so good to see nudes of well built men; 'morning' was brilliant. I particularly like the way you have caught the power of each presence. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful paintings. Please come and share on Facebook we want to meet you and admire your work.
ReplyDeleteNice work Teri!
ReplyDeleteTerry, this is a wonderful series of paintings, that speak of years of observation and appreciation of the human form. "The Angel," "The Black Dress," and "Liz's Garden" stand out to me because of their poses, composition, wonderful drawing, and imaginative color (and scale!), but viewed all together, your body of work has a uniqueness and power that is inspiring and intensely "human," packed with feeling. You have the capacity to see beneath surface forms in your painting, and to grab hold of the "spirit" of your subject that is so difficult to do but for the most masterful of painters. I am praying right now that your painting is going well, that you are encouraged by the long way you have come, and the potential of more truly great paintings like these that are surely in your future. Congratulations for the devotion, discipline, and skill you have developed thus far. I am so glad I saw these. My very best to you and Jim. R
